An Edinburgh local with a passion for Scottish culture and history, Damien is a born storyteller and huge enthusiast of living history.
Guiding since 2018, he can show you a much more authentic Edinburgh that the typical walk down the Royal Mile would suggest even exists.
He’s a scholar of the Scottish Enlightenment, and beyond the obvious choices, can also connect you with the Holyrood Distillery (winner of the 2025 ‘Distiller of the Year’ by the World Whiskies Awards), and Edinburgh Chocolatorium.
In addition to his guiding work, he has also been a historic re-enactor since 2010, performing at shows and fairs all over the UK and Germany.
He’s been a a medieval knight storming a castle, a Jacobite charging at the muskets of Red Coats, and a Roman Centurion warding off Pictish warriors, all of which have heavily informed his understanding of the world and ability to bring across a complex and layered narrative.
As required, Damien can help with private transport, restaurants & bookings, as well as museums & historical sites.
