J O L A N D A

With a broad spectrum cultural awareness that runs the gamut of history, business, design & craftsmanship, and economics, Jolanda (pronounced as though it were with a ‘Y’) is “one of the best secrets in town”, to quote her guests.
She is at heart an art specialist that can help you explore the contemporary art world through the eyes of a passionate scholar, and open some pretty serious doors for collectors and more experienced enthusiasts as well.
Jolanda has that most essential gift - an artist’s eye - yielding an instinctive ability to spot artists and works which will achieve lasting power. Art runs in her familly: her grandfather bridged art, lithography and advertising, her mother painted all her life, and her family’s own collection dates back to the 16th century.
With more than ten years in the field herself, Jolanda thrives on showing her guests all sorts of contemporary art, in private galleries, studios, fairs and shows. Think Venice Biennale, Photo London, Frieze, as well as the classics - British Museum, Tate and so on.
When not guiding, she’s explored many of the more remote corners of the world, from the Kyrgyz steppes, to the Iraqi-Syrian border, and climbed the Alps. She lived in China before there was widespread internet access, meaning she was able to enjoy a fully-immersive, lost-in-translation experience which is at this point in history now impossible.

As required, restaurant suggestions, bookings, activity suggestions, advice and help on art acquisition, and expert guidance on framing choices and logistics can be provided, and further tailored to reflect the specific required geographic area.
