A living legend of African big game walking safari bush culture, Steve has spent the past 40 years living and guiding in Southern Africa.
He is a conservationist, winemaker, winner of the ‘Best Nature Guide in the Western Cape’ by the South African Tourist Board, and a man who can take you from South Africa, to Botswana, to Zimbabwe, covering cities and bush alike, bringing the world and its wildlife into focus in a way few dare imagine.
In addition to his immense practical experience, Steve holds three degrees, multiple specialist certifications, trains other guides across and in 2019 established an environmentally friendly luxury camp on the banks of the Zambei river in the iconic Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe.
Steve is an enthusiastic walker, and believes deeply in up-close-and-personal experiences, on foot. He’s led research safaris for the WWF (investigating the environmental impact of Tsetse fly spraying) and for Washington University (collecting elephant biopsies to be used in the control of ivory movement), has worked to capture and treat animals wounded by poachers, and led the first commercial dugout safari trip to cross the entire Okavango Delta.
His clientel cover discerning guests of all backgrounds, including royalty, diplomats, visiting government representatives, and internationally recognised CEOs, all brought together by his believe in authenticity, and love for bringing people in touch with the natural wonders of Africa in all their splendour.

When not guiding, he is involved in charity walks to raise money for education in impoverished areas, and to raise awareness about poaching.
