Born and raised in Venice, Valerio has always been fascinated by the intricate layers of history, art, and culture that shape this unique city.

Whether navigating the lagoon at sunset, exploring Renaissance masterpieces, or tasting authentic Venetian flavors, his tours are designed to make every guest feel like an insider, not just a visitor.

His life has been a rich and vibrant one which has taken him far and wide though, including a stint as a a corporate manager in construction across the middle east, and extensive travels that once saw him quite drunk in the worst bars in Moscow, and tracing the silk road across central Asia.

All of these experiences have shaped and informed the way he shares this magnificent city with visitors.

Back in Venice since 2018, he has dedicated myself to showcasing the city’s hidden wonders,

Valerio loves to bring to life the stories behind Venice’s palaces, churches, and artistic masterpieces, and can take you through any of Venice’s museums, historical palaces, churches, and archaeological sites in Venice.

Passionate and knowledgeable, you will find that he can covery virtually any aspect of Venice that might catch your eye or inspire your imagination –the Doge’s Palace, St. Mark’s Basilica, the Gallerie dell’Accademia, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Ca’ Rezzonico, are all on his roster as one would expect.

But Valerio can offer much more than this, and specialises in taking his guests well off-the-beaten-path and into the rich cultural heritage of the lagoon islands.

This includes night tours to see Venice after dark, and tours to Murano offering an insider’s look into the island’s glassmaking traditions and local culture.

It also includes exploring the literary and cinematic traditions of the islands, which see him taking his guests on tours inspired by Donna Leon’s Commissario Brunetti series.
